Log Backup System
Log0ne Data Storage & Backup System
Log0ne is built on the principles of simplicity, security, and self-ownership. It provides a reliable backup structure using trusted cloud services—Google Drive and iCloud—to ensure your logs are safely stored and restorable when needed.
Key Design Principles
All logs are stored privately within the app.
Users can create backups via cloud services depending on their platform and subscription.
Recovery is always user-initiated—giving full control and transparency.
A separate file export feature is available for archiving purposes (not for recovery).
Google Drive
Storage Method
Uses Google Drive’s appDataFolder
— a hidden app-specific folder designed for secure storage
Backup Process
User can initiate a backup from within the Log0ne app. Data is saved securely in the background.
Recovery
Performed manually by the user within the app interface using stored data
Access by User
Stored data is not directly visible or modifiable via Google Drive UI—ensures data safety
Export Option
Separate export file available (view-only, not recoverable)
iCloud
Storage Method
iCloud's CloudKit database (app-specific and secure)
Same
Backup
Manual backup triggered from the app
Backup runs automatically in the background
Recovery
Always initiated by the user, using stored data in the app

Why This Architecture?
Security by design: Data is saved in system-level folders, inaccessible from outside.
User ownership: Recovery is always in the user's hands—never automatic, never hidden.
Simplicity: No file juggling or cloud folder management. Just tap “Backup” or “Recover” in-app.
Clarity: Exported files are provided for archiving or viewing—but not for restoring.
